Modern Day Locke? A modern day leader that is affected by the philosophy of John Locke is George W. Bush. Bush had a perspective of the world different from other, he viewed topics differently, he argued more passionately. In his remarks at the Whitehall palace in London, United Kingdom on November 19, 2003 he says “ I’ve noticed the tradition of free speech, exercises with enthusiasm…Were sometimes faulted for a naive faith that liberty can change the world if that's an error than i've began reading too much John Locke.” He acknowledges John Locke in his speech and throughout his term as president he's always protected the inalienable rights of the people never had he tried taking them which was the most important concept that Locke was trying to convey unlike Thomas Hobbes philosophy.
